Being diagnosed with cancer is a nerve-wracking thing. Of course it's going to interfere with your quality of sleep. I can't believe they really needed a study to tell them this.

Thank you for your comment, Ledgeroo, it does, indeed, throw your life into dissarray and is quite scary.

I now find it hard to make any plans for the future, but then, I suppose at my age, is that so important?

I am living from day to day, if I have a "good day" it's a bonus, "bad days" I just try to stoically accept and realise that there is not a lot I can do to stop them.

Whatever treatment they give me in the future, I know that it's all down to me really how I cope with things.

I try to keep positive and go about my daily grind as "normally" as possible.

At least, being retired is a bonus, as I no longer need to drag myself to any job.

Hi Sandie. I am sorry you are going thru cancer right now and I hope you continue to improve and the treatments are successful. I lost my mom to uterine cancer last year, Stage IV and I'm still in shock. She was 79. 4 months into treatment, Carbo and taxol, she was gone. We're still not sure what happened. I don't think my mother ever really slept again after she found out she had a malignancy. Anyhow, I visit a cancer survivors network online that has been a godsend. They have discussion threads for every kind of cancer out there and seperate posts for emotional support etc. I have found it to be a great source of comfort. I wish I'd known about it when my mom was still alive. I know you are scared because I am scared. Since my mom was first diagnosed, there's not a day that goes by the I don't think about cancer. That's all you can do. Try. Just keep trying and never give up hope.
